It's abnormal, how normal I am.

I am a good person, I don’t do anything that is sinful like lying stealing, cheating or anything more serious. I am always willing to help out anyone that needs help, I’m charitable and leave a clean life; I’m just a good person, so God will not condemn me…instead I think that when I die, God will welcome me into heaven because I have don’t my best to be a good person. That sounds lovely, but unfortunately it is incorrect. Because there are none that are righteous, we cannot please God by trying to “be good” or by doing good works, we all are sinners and sin will separate us from God.

Romans 3:10-11    ¹⁰As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; ¹¹there is no one who understands, no one who seeks God.

Romans 8:8    Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God.

Romans 3:23    for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

1 John 1:8-10    ⁸If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. ⁹If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. ¹⁰If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives.

Isaiah 64:6    All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.

Romans 6:23    For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Isaiah 59:2    But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear.

BUT

God has provided a way for you to be with him. He is just, so there must be a payment for sin, but He is also merciful and loves us. Jesus who is 100% man and 100% God was sinless, but took on the sin of the entire world and paid the penalty for us.

1 Peter 2:21-24    ²¹To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.  ²²“He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in his mouth.”^[a]23When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate; when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly. ²⁴He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.

1 John 4:19    We love because he first loved us.

Hebrews 9:28    so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

1 Peter 3:18    For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit,

Romans 3:21-25    ²¹But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. ²²This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. Romans 5:8    But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
